Thanks for the info, Brian! I live close to a large salvage yard, maybe I will check them out. If they jack is all metal, I could still weld it to the trailer. 8)

I you wish to use scissor type jacks. Go to your local pick n pull salvage yard and find some 1992 -99 Toyota Trecel jacks. Located above the right rear wheel well. I paid $4.99 each for mine and they had never been used. Good Roads Brian

Martin, Thanks for the comments. We are planning on painting the name, along with a picture of the lizard. Daughter in law suggested we add "It's a lizard, people" as a tag line for those that don't know about the horned lizard..... I laid the canvas on the driveway and soaked it with a garden hose, then let it dry in the sun. It was warm out, but I started with cold water. The canvas shrank over a foot in width. After the preshrinking, we didn't notice any more shrinkage while applying it …

Hi sam and Kat: I like your trailers name among ohter things. I think you would get a lot of chuckles if you were to paint the name on it with a spray bomb and some kind of a computer generated stencil. You could print it out on label paper, in big letters cut out the stencil with an exacto knife and stick it to the trailer. A little more plastic and some masking tape to cover the over spray. and then spray it. The humor in it would keep you safe and inspire patience on the part of people …

On a typical teardrop, the ratio is about 1/3 of the body length from the rear of the body ... so on an 8' teardrop, the axle/spindle centerline should be 33"-34" forward from the rearmost part of the body.
Just curious, After you glue and screw the luan on the top over the insulation. When the glue dries do you take the screws out all together or counter sink them and putty them up. I’ve done it both ways and now I like to do it the right way. Thanks Dano

Thanks Grant I used 10 oz cotton drop cloths from Harbor freight for the canvas. After I bought them, I found there was a seam in the middle of the "tarp', so ended up with an overlap seam on the sides and roof. I was hoping to have it one piece. We tried thinned Titebond to glue it down with, but quickly found out full strength was easier to work with. We applied the glue to the wood, spread the canvas over it, and wiped it into place with our palms. It was really surprising how easy it w …
